I can’t remember how old this Aloe Vera plant is. We bought it from our old house in 1999. It could be 20 years old and is stunning in its age.
I do nothing to it. It is in a pot in a shaded area and I might from time to time throw some water on it (though it never appears in need of it).
I might also, very occasionally, top up the potting mix in the pot and every now and then it throws a really tall flower. The flower lasts for weeks and weeks.
Bonus: When I burn myself in the kitchen I can break off a chunky leaf and cover my pain with soothing aloe vera.
We have a similar aloe vera that gets very little attention and very occasionally produces a stalk. It too is a favourite burn remedy in our house.
